There's much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about my work. I hope you enjoy my site and take a moment to drop me a line.
Live Wedding and Event painting has emerged as a unique & captivating form of artistic expression, adding a touch of magic to special occasions. This distinctive art form involves an artist creating a painting On-Site during a live event, capturing the essence and atmosphere in real time. One of the most remarkable aspects is witnessing the artist's process as it happens. I set up my easel at a place with a good view of the event and paint the moment that my client wishes to capture: First dance, ceremony, first kiss, etc. I use acrylic paint on canvas for its vibrant colors & timeless quality. I usually don't finish the entire painting by the end of the event, but people will see a very nearly finished work. The rest is done in the Studio.
Beyond the artistic merit, Live Painting also serves as a form of entertainment for the guests who enjoy watching my progress & engaging in conversation while I work. It transforms the act of creating into a live perfomance, making the event a unique and unforgettable experience for everyone.
I have been creating art all my life. At a young age I began studying Drawing and Oil Painting with renowned artist Frank Reilly at his Manhattan school. Later on I studied Watercolor with David Kulesa. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Art History. My work has been exhibited in many shows & dozens of my paintings are in private collections.
My work is influenced by what I see in the world around me and my study of the world's geniuses in the history of art. Whatever the subject, I tend to work in a realistic style with attention to detail. I bring to my live painting a desire to produce a painting that brings my client's vision to life.
A variety of art services are available.
For Live Painting, I offer a several painting sizes done in acrylic paint which can also be completed in oils in studio.
Another choice is Live Painting of Guest Portraits. It is a a fun, quick Watercolor sketch of each guest that is sure to please & gets the guests involved in seeing the process of creating art at your event.
I also do commissioned Watercolor paintings; these are done in Studio from your photos after the event. This can be any scene during the event, a painting of the wedding Bouquet, or almost any subject not associated with the event: pets, houses, cars, boats etc. Examples of these can be seen on my website, www.janetmiranda.com
